MEMSA 2026 INNOVATION FOR MINING AND EXCELLENCE AWARDS
Going into our fourth edition of these awards, we are very proud of the track record of excellent innovations showcased — both through the awards themselves and in the year that follows each event.
The 2026 Awards will again be announced at the Mind Shift Conference on Transforming the South African Mining Sector through Innovation & Digital Technologies, taking place on the 21st and 22nd of May 2026 at the IDC Conference Centre, Sandton, Johannesburg. This year’s theme is ‘The Impact of AI on the Mining Ecosystem’.

Items entered may include one or more innovative aspect. We hope these categories will provide our members and the wider industry with exciting opportunities to showcase their achievements, and inspiration to keep pushing the boundaries.
The Entry Form is a 10-page document, but you would only complete the sections relevant to the categories you are entering — requirements are made quite clear throughout.
We do encourage you to:
- Have relevant team members read through the Entry Form as soon as possible
- Decide which items to enter, and for which categories
- Submit your ‘first draft’ entry form by end-March — this allows us to give you feedback if there are major gaps or if any questions have been misunderstood
